About PenPhonix Academy
PenPhonix Academy equips students in grades K–3 and 5–8 with essential literacy skills for lifelong success. Through storytelling, cursive writing, phonics, vocabulary development, and recitation, we nurture confident communicators.
Our program goes beyond literacy by introducing art, music, history, science, geography, and basic mathematics—creating a vibrant learning community that inspires curiosity, creativity, and a passion for knowledge.

Meet our Founders/Coaches Lesley Cooper and Laurie Cooper. With a combined 60 years of experience as educators in the Pinellas County Public School System and mentoring in the Greater St. Petersburg Area, they bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our program. Both coaches share a strong passion for ensuring that children learn cursive writing and phonics, empowering them to enter school with confidence and readiness to learn. Our expert tutors are committed to nurturing students’ academic growth and helping them unleash their full potential.

Our PenPhonix Saturday Academy Phenoms are immersed in rich storytelling, vocabulary-enrichment words, math, phonics, and writing activities that make learning exciting and fun. It’s amazing how quickly children can learn, internalize, and retain knowledge—even Harmony at age 3 can keep up. Even a 3-year-old can use it.
